High Fidelity

Remember when the storm came

Broke through across the fire line

We ran to save the horses

As the brown smoke filled the sky

This old house could tell some stories

Of sorrows and past glories

It’s built to take the trials

And the fortunes of our lives

We’ll take all of the above

And none that don’t apply

A measure of our days

Some treasure still to find

When all is said and gone

We’re left with familiarity

We can still journey on

In high fidelity

We light a fire in the evening

And watch sleeping dogs breathing

We talk of old friends we haven’t seen for so long

More time for contemplating

And more songs to be playing

And after all we know we've still been going strong

We’ll take all of the above

And none that don’t apply

A measure of our days

Some treasure still to find

When all is said and gone

We’re left with familiarity

We can still journey on

In high fidelity

Memories of the world we knew

Are woven like a sail

To sustain us as each day unfolds

Our courage will prevail

And each new day breaks open

Like a gift revealed

Our life has grown and time has shown

Our love is guaranteed

We’ll take all of the above

And none that don’t apply

A measure of our days

Some treasure still to find

When all is said and gone

We’re left with familiarity

We can still journey on

In high fidelity
